The Center for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention provides professional training to hundreds of teachers and service providers throughout western Pennsylvania each year. CAPP has developed training programs that focus on a variety of topics related to adolescents and youth development, including:
- how to help parents talk with their children about sexuality
- how to make effective health education exhibits
- the consequences of teen pregnancy
- teen pregnancy prevention
- teen emotional and sexual development
Taught, Not Caught
Taught, Not Caught is a two-day workshop to teach teachers and others who work with teens interactive strategies for increasing teens' knowledge about reproductive health. This course has been accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Kids Having Kids
Kids Having Kids is a 15-hour course to teach professionals about adolescent development, teen pregnancy, and teen pregnancy prevention. It has been accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Working with Teens
This training is for professionals, paraprofessionals, and volunteers who work with teens. The purpose is to gain a better understanding of adolescent emotional and sexual development.
Family Connections
This training is offered to professionals who work with parents. This training educates professionals who want to train parents to effectively communicate with their children.
