Beginning a program of good prenatal care as soon as pregnancy occurs
is important to both the woman's and the child's health. Adagio Health
makes it easy for women to receive the care they need during pregnancy.
Pregnancy care can begin at the time of testing. Free walk-in pregnancy
testing is available at all Adagio
Health offices.
Adagio Health prenatal care programs are tailored to meet the individual
needs of expectant mothers. A team of physicians, nurse practitioners,
nurses, registered dietitians, and office assistants is ready to provide
high-quality pregnancy care. Adagio Health provides and arranges for
such special care as:
- nutrition counseling
- home medical visits
- transportation assistance
- parenting classes
- substance abuse counseling
In addition, the Women, Infants, and
Children (WIC) nutrition program provides food and nutrition education
to pregnant women and young children. Adagio Health is the fourth largest
WIC provider in Pennsylvania.
Adagio Health's Healthy Start House
provides residential care to pregnant women and women with young children,
their infants, and young children. New mothers learn to care for their
infants while gaining emotional and physical strength and making connections
to community resources. Healthy Start House also provides prenatal and
postpartum education and support.
Adagio Health accepts all types of insurance coverage (including medical
assistance HMO plans) and participates in the Department of Public Welfare
Healthy Beginnings Plus program.
