The Power Up Program

Power Up Objectives

  • Provides Nutrition Education in the classroom and other environments
  • Focus on healthy eating behaviors and an active lifestyle
  • Empower students, families, teachers, and communities with nutrition knowledge

Responsibilities of Participating Schools

  • Promote the Adagio Health’s Nutrition Education Programming
  • Support teachers in Integrating Nutrition Education into their school day as appropriate
  • Require teachers to document time spent on approved nutrition education activities
  • Permit teachers to send information to parents/caregivers home with the students

Power Up Services and Advantages to Schools

  • Curriculum assists schools in meeting Pennsylvania System of School Assignment
  • Classroom programs
  • Teacher trainings
  • Curricula and follow up activities
  • Support of Registered Dietitian and Staff
  • Monthly newsletters
  • Nutrition materials/posters
  • Power Up website that changes monthly with different monthly nutrition topics/recipes
  • After school activities
  • Nutrition Education to parents groups
